Volunteer:

Volunteers really help make our sales a success.  When you volunteer, you earn passes to the pre-sales.  If you have ever been to one of the sales, you know the value of this!  You can volunteer to work the sale or volunteer to supply certain items to earn a pass.  Keep reading for details on how to earn these very valuable passes!

Our 8 hour volunteers get a pass to enter the sale at 3:30pm

Our 4 hour volunteers get a pass to enter the sale at 4:15pm

All consignors get to shop the pre-sale at 5:00pm even if you don't volunteer. 

New Parents get to shop the pre-sale at 5:45pm

All volunteers and consignors also can shop the 1/2 price sale before it is open to the public.  For exact times/dates of pre-sales, click here.

It is best to sign up as soon as you can as your preferred spot may be taken if you wait.

Volunteers who volunteer to work the sale are used in a wide variety of ways.  Check in/out, Organizing, de-tagging, set up/break down, assisting customers and much more

If possible, we’d like to ask that you show up 15 minutes before the start of your shift so we can give instructions and you can become familiar with the event layout. 

You must have a presale pass to enter the pre sale.  If you are consigning, you will need to pick up your pass at drop off.  If you are not consigning, please come during drop off hours to pick up your pass. 

If you have earned a volunteer pass, you need to understand that this admits only ONE person.  You cannot bring your spouse, partner, friend, mother etc.  You may work 8 hours and request two 4 hr early entry passes and give one for someone else to enter with you. 

Options:

Media Coverage-if you know someone who works for a radio station, TV, newspaper or local magazine and could arrange for some publicity, please contact us now.   This will be worth a 8 hr pass if it can be arranged.

Fill Sponsor Bags- If you have 2 or 3 friends who are consigning, this could be your chance to spend some time together and earn your pass!  Gather at someone's house and fill the bags with the various ad materials that our sponsors will provide.  There will be 500 bags to fill.  Good for 4 hr pass.

Flyers- If you work at a daycare, school, preschool, large playgroup, Boy Scout, Girl Scout troop, church preschool, church, large business, doctor's office, dance school where you can distribute a large number of flyers, you can earn a 4 hr pass for passing the flyers out to your group.  This isn't meant for groups of 10 or 20 people but rather large groups of people.  If you also have access to a copier and can print the flyers on colored paper, you can earn an additional 4 hr pass.

If you don't work at any of these places or have access to hand them out but are willing to call such organizations to see if they would accept our flyers to hand out, you can also earn a 4 hr pass. 

If you think you would pass them out at a park, zoo, library, malls etc, you can also earn a 4 hr pass for successfully handing out 250 flyers.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you do not put any flyers or other material on mailboxes.  This is illegal.  Also, make sure you aren't placing material or handing out material where it isn't allowed.  We want to get the word out but not to do it in the right ways.

Shopping Bags- If you can supply a few hundred shopping bags-not grocery store bags, you will receive a 4 hr pass.

Large Uhaul type truck- If you have or know of someone with access to a large truck that we can use to transport our break down items, you will earn a 8 hr presale pass.

Printing- If you have access to a copier and can print 500 copies on colored paper, you can earn a 4 hr pass.  1000 earns an 8 hr pass.  It is best if you have access to a computer where you can send the job to the printer/copier so the copies are nice and crisp. 

Volunteer Shifts:

Remember you earn your early entry pass based on 4 or 8  volunteer hours.  **Remember if you are a consignor, volunteers also earn 75%!!!

Volunteer No Show Policy:

Back 2 The Rack has created a Volunteer No Show Policy.  This policy helps to protect our event and the volunteers who work hard to earn their passes.  This policy helps prevent people from taking advantage of our volunteer benefits.

While we understand that sometimes things come up, unexpectedly and that they can prevent you from working the shift you signed up for, we do have a policy where if you do not show up for your volunteer shift, your consigning percentage will drop to 40%, NO EXCEPTIONS!  If you are a non-consigning volunteer, you will not be allowed to volunteer at any future event nor consign at future event. 

If you have an emergency that prevents you from completing your volunteer shift, please call or email us as soon as possible.  If you can not make your schduled time, please call Rosie at 720-335-7897.

If you can find another volunteer to take your place, this will be satisfactory and your privileges will remain in force.  They will, however, earn the pass unless they agree to give it to you.  Two passes will not be earned. 

This policy was created to protect our volunteer privileges.  It helps us to attract people who are truly committed to our event.  It is important to analyze if you can truly be available on the shift you select.
